Our Intent in Music
At Sharp Lane Primary School, we recognise the importance of MUSIC in every aspect of daily life.
Our intent is for our pupils to be ASPIRATIONAL by being able to use their musical skills, knowledge, and experiences to involve themselves in music, in a variety of different contexts within school and their future lives and careers if they wish too.
We want our children to BELIEVE in themselves through applying the musical skills they have developed and learnt and perform these to a wider audience to showcase their talent!
Our children are COMMITTED to developing a curiosity for the subject, as well as an understanding and acceptance of the validity and importance of all types of music, and an unbiased respect for the role that music may wish to be expressed in any person’s life.
We allow our children to explore and DISCOVER through exposing them to a range of musical genres particularly through singing ,different types of instruments and allowing them to have musical experiences through visits in the wider community.
