In Year 1, we are very excited for Easter. Today we went on an egg hunt, we had to read the clues and then find the eggs. In each egg was a letter and we had to work out what the word said. It spelt out the word Easter.
We are going to write a recount about our Easter egg hunt.

In Maths, we are learning to match the numeral to the number written as a word. We have played lots of fun games to help us to read and write the numbers as words.
To help us really understand number, we are also practising making 2 digit numbers using resources such as Base 10, place value counters, part part whole models and bar models. We can now talk about how many tens and ones are in the number.

If you are having any issues with Google Classroom, please use the year 1 email address to contact us and we will try our best to help you (firstname.lastname@example.org).

Christmas Crafts Day
The children in Year 1 have really enjoyed our Christmas Crafts day. They had fun making their four seasons calendar which they painted using cotton buds and made their own salt dough Christmas tree ornaments. We look forward to painting our decorations when they emerge from the oven (hopefully in one piece!)
All the staff in Year 1 would like to welcome back all the children. It is fabulous to see you all.
