Good morning Reception.

Today we would like you to have a shape hunt around your home. Here is a Bounce Patrol song about the different shapes we can see all around us:

Have fun looking for all the 2D shapes we have talked about. We can't wait to hear about the different shapes you have found - did you manage to find a triangle shape?

Good morning Reception.

Todays challenge involves making up your own story using the picture attached as your inspiration.

Once you have finished telling your story, can you make your own rocket using items in your home? What adventures will you have playing in your rocket?

We hope you have lots of fun and can't wait to see your pictures and videos.

Challenge 3

Good morning.

Today you are going to be playing a memory game. There are two versions of this game but you can choose whether you would like to play one or both games.

Game 1 - collect items from around your home and arrange them in a tray or in a space on the floor or table. With your child, identify each item and when they are confident that they can remember the items ask them to close their eyes. Remove an item and hide it from their view. Ask the child to open their eyes and guess what item has been removed. When guessed correctly, put the item back in the same place. Repeat this game as many times as wanted. If the child is finding the game too easy either add more items or move onto game 2.

Game 2 - collect items from around your home and arrange them in a tray or in a space on the floor or table. With your child identify each item and when they are confident that they can remember the items place a tea towel over them so they cannot be seen. See if your child can remember all the items placed under the tea towel. When they think they have guessed them all, lift up the tea towel so they can check if they were right. Repeat this game as many times as wanted adding or changing items if needed.

We enjoy playing this game with children in Reception and we hope you all have fun too.

Challenge 4

Hi reception,

Today for your challenge you are going to get creative! Can you create some musical instruments using household objects? For example, you might create a tissue box guitar or a rice shaker! I have attached some pictures for inspiration. Post your creations on tapestry- you may want to even sing a song whilst playing your new instrument!
What materials did you use to create it?
How did you create it?
Is your instrument quite or loud?

Challenge 4

For todays challenge we are going to do some dancing! The video is below.

Following on from this, Can you recreate this song using your own different kinds of zoo animals? For example,
Snap little crocodiles?
Roar little Lions?
See what you can come up with,
