Our Intent with Outdoor Learning
At Sharp Lane Primary School, we recognise the importance of OUTDOOR LEARNING to help children develop their confidence, team skills and resilience.
Our intent is for our pupils to be ASPIRATIONAL by using their imagination and skills to create, design and build in the outdoors. Real-life, practical and hands-on experiences provide opportunities for all learners to experience learning outside of the classroom.
We want our children to BELIEVE in themselves through confidently applying their skills and knowledge, academically and socially to different outdoor challenges and experiences.
Our children COMMIT themselves to their learning by applying their knowledge and skills, exploring and learning about the outdoors throughout the year. They will complete projects which they must see through from start to finish. Some pupils are committed to our Forest School Club and take part in a project which runs over several weeks.
We allow our children to explore and DISCOVER through hands-on experiences, discovering seasons and how our world changes around us.
