Domestic Abuse
The Government definition of Domestic Abuse and Violence:
Any incidents or patterns of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality. This can encompass, but is not limited to, the following types of abuse:
- Psychological
- Physical
- Sexual
- Financial
- Emotional
Recognising that you are being abused is an important step, your safety and that of your children is always the priority. If you are in immediate danger call 999.
Help and support are always available and the Safeguarding Team can help to signpost you to appropriate Domestic Abuse services. We are always available to talk things through.
The Safeguarding Team will be notified of any reported incidents of Domestic Abuse that have happened overnight or during the weekend. This enables us to support your child in school and to support yourself to access appropriate services.
Domestic Violence Notifications
The Domestic Violence and Abuse Notification System allows the school to be notified of Domestic Abuse incidents where children were present when the police attended. This enables us to make provision for the child/ren in school by offering support through talking, having time that day away from the classroom environment and supporting the family.
